WEDNESDAY MAY 31 IN THE MULTI-PURPOSE HALL OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF DRAMA “THE MOBILE SCHOOL TRAVELS” IN AN EDUCATIONAL ROBOTICS EVENT

In the educational robotics event «@robot’s education» will take part the project “The Mobile School Travels” of the Ladies’ Union of Drama – House of Open Hospitality (HOH).
The event will take place on Wednesday 31 May at 6 P.M in the multi-purpose hall of the Municipality of Drama and the presence of the Ladies’ Union will be double. The project team will present to dozens of children the wheeled construction through which Roma children who live and work on the streets are successfully approached, while at the same time the president, Aliki Tsiamoura, will talk about the results of the three-year project. The event is organized by the Municipality of Drama in collaboration with the IT and educational robotics tutorial @robot’s education. Among other things, robotics actions for children, assistive technology for the disabled will be presented and at the end an award ceremony for the @robot’s education team will take place.
After three years of interventions only within Drama, the Mobile School from 2020 until today is taking place three times a week in areas of Drama, Kavala and Xanthi, in order to approach Roma children who either for social or family reasons are excluded from the school communities and cannot have a regular education.
The project “The Mobile School Travels” is implemented within the framework of the Active citizensfund program, with the implementing body of the Ladies’ Union of Drama – House of Open Hospitality (HOH). The Active citizens fund program, amounting to €13,5 million, is financed by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway and is part of the financial mechanism of the European Economic Area (EEA) for the period 2014 – 2021, known as EEA Grants. The program aims to strengthen and optimize the sustainability of civil society, as well to highlight its role in promoting democratic processes, strengthening citizens’ participation in society and defending human rights.
