Wednesday, June 2nd, 2021 at 12:00pm in the central square of Xanthi Double action for “The Mobile School Travels”

On Wednesday, June 2nd at 12:00pm the Mobile School of the Union of Ladies of Drama-H.O.H. will be located in the central square of Xanthi.

 

The project team together with volunteers will inform the public about the action, while the Mobile School will be “opened” in the square, in order to reach Roma children working on the city streets with its actions. At the same time, in the context of information for the implementation of the project, a car passing through the city streets will promote the actions of the Mobile School, inviting children to participate in them, and more specifically in active games, math, spelling contests, personal discussions hygiene, Covid, et al. The action will be honored by the presence of the Mayor of Xanthi Emmanouil Tsepelis.

After two years of interventions in Drama, the Mobile School travels three times a week to areas of Drama, Kavala and Xanthi, in order to reach Roma children who are excluded from school communities or due to the family environment they can not have regular education.

The project “The Mobile School Travels” is implemented within the framework of the Active citizens fund program, with the implementing body the Ladies Union of Drama – H.O.H The Active citizens fund program, amounting to € 12 million, is funded by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway and is part of the European Economic Area (EEA) funding mechanism for the period 2014 – 2021, known as EEA Grants. The program aims to strengthen and enhance the sustainability of civil society and to highlight its role in promoting democratic processes, enhancing citizen participation in the community and defending human rights. The management of the Active citizens fund program in Greece has been jointly undertaken by the Bodosakis Foundation and SolidarityNow.
