08 Sep THE WEEK IS FULL OF ACTIONS FOR THE PROJECT TEAM “THE MOBILE SCHOOL TRAVELS”
The presence of the “Mobile School Travels” project at the Old Town Festivities was completed with the massive attendance of Roma and non-Roma children at the Limnio Park in Xanthi.
Dozens of children and parents played and had fun with the Mobile School’s various panels practicing their knowledge and skills.
At the same time, from September 4-8, the group from morning to late afternoon attended the educational seminar designed by the Belgian Mobile School Organization for the institution’s needs. The seminar ended with the distribution of certificates of attendance.
After three years of interventions only within Drama, the Mobile School from 2020 until today is located three times a week in areas of Drama, Kavala and Xanthi, in order to approach Roma children who either for social or family reasons are excluded from the school communities and cannot have a regular education.
The project “The Mobile School Travels” is implemented within the framework of the Active citizensfund program, with the implementing body of the Ladies’ Union of Drama – House of Open Hospitality (HOH). The Active citizens fund program, amounting to €15 million, is financed by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway and is part of the financial mechanism of the European Economic Area (EEA) for the period 2014 – 2021, known as EEA Grants. The program aims to strengthen and optimize the sustainability of civil society, as well to highlight its role in promoting democratic processes, strengthening citizens’ participation in society and defending human rights. The management of the grant of the Active citizens fund program for Greece has been undertaken jointly by the Bodosaki Foundation and the Solidarity Now. Read more here: www.activecitizensfund.gr
