“THE MOBILE SCHOOL TRAVELS” TO SITAGRI OF PROSOTSANIS WITH THE PRESENCE OF THE PRESIDENT OF CNPC, DIΟNIS VARDAKAS. WARM RECEPTION FROM THE CHILDREN.

The team of the project “The Mobile School Travels” on Thursday, July 23, carried out an intervention in the Community of Sitagri in the Municipality of Prosotsani in the Prefecture of Drama.
The reception of the entire volunteer team of the Mobile School was enthusiastic from the children and their parents. The Mobile School for the second time approached the specific area, as it changed the intervention areas for a short period of time due to the outbreak of COVID 19. So, instead of Xanthi and Kavala, it approaches now the city of Drama and the rest of the Prefecture’s Municipalities.
During the intervention, in addition to regular games, some educational games related to Covid were held, as well as a game of making a protective mask against COVID 19. Τhe participation of the children was large and enthusiastic. At the intervention were present the president of the Ladies’ Union of Drama – House of Open Hospitality (H.O.H.) Aliki Tsiamoura, the president of CNPC (donor of the mobile school van) ¨Panos and Chrysiida – Help for Children¨, Dioni Vardaka, the deputy mayor of the Municipality of Prosotsani Mr. Psomas, and the municipal councilor of the Municipality of Prosotsani, Filio Pantikidou.
After two years of interventions within Drama, the Mobile School is taking place three times a week in areas of Drama, Kavala and Xanthi, in order to approach Roma children who either for social or family reasons are excluded from the school communities and cannot have a regular education.
The project “The Mobile School Travels” is implemented within the framework of the Active citizensfund program, with the implementing body of the Ladies’ Union of Drama – House of Open Hospitality (HOH). The Active citizens fund program, amounting to €12 million, is financed by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway and is part of the financial mechanism of the European Economic Area (EEA) for the period 2014 – 2021, known as EEA Grants.
