05 Sep SEPTEMBER 4-7, 2023 TRAINING WEEK FOR THE “MOBILE SCHOOL TRAVELS” PROJECT TEAM
The “Mobile School Travels” project team will attend a four-day training.
The training, which will take place at the facilities of the House of Open Hospitality (HOH), will be conducted by the trainer-coordinator of the Belgian Organization, Junieth Machado from September 4 to 7.
The aim is to train the institution’s staff in the hybrid models of the Mobile School, in order to strengthen and give impetus and depth to the work of the project. Every day will be an opportunity for the institution to exchange good practices and acquire new tools and weapons in its quiver. The training will start early in the morning, at noon there will be an intervention at the Philippou camp and then the group will gather again in the offices in order to do the evaluation and study the results of the intervention.
After three years of interventions only within Drama, the Mobile School from 2020 until today is taking place three times a week in areas of Drama, Kavala and Xanthi, in order to approach Roma children who either for social or family reasons are excluded from the school communities and cannot have a regular education.
The project “The Mobile School Travels” is implemented within the framework of the Active citizensfund program, with the implementing body of the Ladies’ Union of Drama – House of Open Hospitality (HOH). The Active citizens fund program, amounting to €15 million, is financed by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway and is part of the financial mechanism of the European Economic Area (EEA) for the period 2014 – 2021, known as EEA Grants. The program aims to strengthen and optimize the sustainability of civil society, as well to highlight its role in promoting democratic processes, strengthening citizens’ participation in society and defending human rights. The management of the grant of the Active citizens fund program for Greece has been undertaken jointly by the Bodosaki Foundation and the Solidarity Now. Read more here: www.activecitizensfund.gr
