06 Apr Presence of the Ambassador of Norway Frode Overland Andersen Opening Day of the project “TIME TO TALK”
Impressed and excited by the work that takes place daily in the Union of Ladies of Drama – H.O.H. states the Norwegian Ambassador Frode Overland Andersen.
The Ambassador accepted the invitation of President Aliki Tsiamoura to attend the Opening Day of the project “TIME TO TALK” which is implemented under the Active citizens fund program with grant managers Bodosakis Foundation and Solidarity Now. The project is funded by the EEA Financing Facility, commonly known as EEA Grants, with donors from Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein. In his short greeting, he pointed out : “We see in Greece an increased and systematic support of the most vulnerable groups. I had the opportunity to see the Open House of Hospitality, the work that is done there is impressive. I’m really excited about their effort. Norway has allocated € 2.2 million across the country to support victims of gender-based violence and their families and in general to empower women and young girls, and we are very pleased that this investment is paying off. The financial support without strong local allies, such as the Union of Ladies of Drama-H.O.H. would not be effective. You should be really proud of what you have achieved and the impact of your work on the community. ”
The Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Maria Syregela, addressed a video greeting everyone, as well as the Active Citizens fund Manager for Greece, Ms. Jenny Lazarou, on behalf of the Grant Manager. Immediately afterwards, the presentations followed. From the head of the project “TIME TO TALK”, Maria Galanopoulou, Mrs. Hadjifotiou Sevasti – Associate Professor of the Department of Social Work of the Democritus University of Thrace, Mrs. Attica and finally Ms. Ingunn Rangul Askeland, Clinical Psychologist from the Norwegian organization “Alternative to Violence”.
