“Mobile School Travels” to Kimmeria of Xanthi

The team of the project “Mobile School Travels” has begun its interventions in the Community of Kimmeria in the Municipality of Xanthi.

During the interventions, there are icebreaker games, educational games concerning illiteracy, board games about words and educational games about cognitive skills. The reception by the children and their parents is hearty. The children have the opportunity to participate in all of the activities of the Mobile School. Following two years of interventions in Drama, the Mobile School now travels three times per week in areas of Drama, Kavala and Xanthi, in order to reach Roma children that are excluded from the school communities or due to their family environment are unable to have a normal attendance.

The project‘Mobile School Travels’ is implementedin the framework of the program Active Citizens Fund, with the Ladies Union of Drama – House of Open Hospitalityas the implementing body. The Active Citizens Fund program of €12m is funded by Iceland, Lichtenstein and Norway, and is part of the funding mechanism of the European Economic Area (EEA) for the period of 2014-2021, known as EEA Grants.
