July 12 & 13 in new intervention areas “The Mobile School Travels” in Paranesti and Adriani of Drama

“The Mobile School Travels” will be in two new intervention areas next week.

 

Specifically on Monday and Tuesday 12 & 13 July 2021 it will travel to Adriani and Paranesti, in order to reach Roma children living and working on the streets.

 

On Monday at 11:00 in the morning it will be at the Primary School of Adriani and on Tuesday at the same time at the Primary School of Paranesti. After the invitation of the Mayor of Paranesti, Anastasios Kayaoglou, the Mobile School will give children the opportunity to spend their time creatively and having fun, participating in activities such as: active games, math games, spelling contests, discussions about personal hygiene, Covid, etc.

After two years of interventions only within Drama, the Mobile School, travels three times a week to areas of Drama, Kavala and Xanthi, in order to reach Roma children who are excluded for either social or family reasons from school communities and cannot have regular attendance.

The project “The Mobile School Travels” is implemented within the framework of the Active citizens fund program, with the implementing body the Ladies Union of Drama – H.O.H The Active citizens fund program, amounting to € 12 million, is funded by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway and is part of the European Economic Area (EEA) funding mechanism for the period 2014 – 2021, known as EEA Grants. The program aims to strengthen and enhance the sustainability of civil society and to highlight its role in promoting democratic processes, enhancing citizen participation in the community and defending human rights. The management of the Active citizens fund program in Greece has been jointly undertaken by the Bodosakis Foundation and SolidarityNow.
