14 Jun In a new intervention area – The project “The Mobile School travels” in Kalo Agro, Drama
On Friday, May 21st, 2021, “The Mobile School Travels” will be in Kalo Agro, Drama, in order to reach the Roma children of the community for the first time.
Observing all the protection measures against the pandemic, the project team “The Mobile School Travels” of the Union of Ladies of Drama – H.O.H. continues dynamically the Mobile School interventions in the Prefecture of Drama, constantly approaching new areas. During the intervention, educational activities, creative employment and active games will take place. Children and parents will have the opportunity to be informed about the activities and operation of the Mobile School, as well as to actively participate in all activities. After two years of interventions in Drama, the Mobile School is located three times a week in areas of Drama, Kavala and Xanthi, in order to reach Roma children who are excluded from school communities or due to the family environment they can not have regular education.
The project “The Mobile School Travels” is implemented within the framework of the Active citizens fund program, with the implementing body the Ladies Union of Drama – H.O.H The Active citizens fund program, amounting to € 12 million, is funded by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway and is part of the European Economic Area (EEA) funding mechanism for the period 2014 – 2021, known as EEA Grants. The program aims to strengthen and enhance the sustainability of civil society and to highlight its role in promoting democratic processes, enhancing citizen participation in the community and defending human rights. The management of the Active citizens fund program in Greece has been jointly undertaken by the Bodosakis Foundation and SolidarityNow.
