Meanwhile, the interventions continue 3 times a week in the settlement of Philippou, so that the children who started school receive an additional help preparing for the next day’s lessons, as well as two interventions per month in Chrysochori of Kavala and one in the city of Xanthi. In Kavala and Xanthi, Roma children are creatively deal with the mobile panels while simultaneously they are learning mathematics, spelling, geography and more. After three years of interventions only within Drama, the Mobile School from 2020 until today is taking place three times a week in areas of Drama, Kavala and Xanthi, in order to approach Roma children who either for social or family reasons are excluded from the school communities and cannot have normal attendance. The project received a new nine-month extension until April 2024 starting in August 2023. One of the goals is to convince more Roma children in the Philippou camp to go to school and continue their education. For this reason, the project team carries out a “Social Tutoring” in the settlement of Philippou three times a week, helping the children to meet the demands of school lessons.
